It does, after all, save a pin.
If saving ONE pin is essential early in the development you will most likely find yourself screwed anyhow. Now, just one comment: saving pins was a very popular sport in the olden days. Today, if you do not live in the past and choose a processoe with enough internal flash and RAM you 'save' 18 pins. That is a REAL savings. In my opinion, using external memory of any kind (if 128k flash and 8k RAM will suffice) is an anachronism. Erik |
