Now you're saying that one should use "at least plenty" of everything. How does that figure in? I figure that's probably the case with a development board, but for an application? Keep in mind, every bit of memory that you install could fail. The more there are, the more likely it is to happen. There's no guarantee that there will be no undesirable side-effect to having an otherwise unused feature of your MCU fail. Yes, what you need is a controller chip with 10^10^10 GB of flash and a similar amount of RAM. Of course, it should have 10^23 pins, too, just in case you later need 'em, right? It might take a while to program such a beastie, eh? Have you ever considered choosing the RIGHT part, rather than one that covers all the bases twice over? I know that means making a few decisions before the physical implementation has happened, but what the hey? RE |
