Ok, What you are telling me is that you do not know how to use an LCD display.

As for the people posting code, lets hold off for a second.

Because we need to see what the OP wants.

If he is trying to make the LCD memory mapped, and you are giving him code that works if the LCD is connected to the port pins, it won't work.

If he is trying to make the LCD work on port 1 pins, and uses ports 3.5 through 3.7 for control, and your code works with ports 3.0 through P3.2 for control, then we have a problem.

First, lets review his setup.

OP, Can you provide a schematic illustrating your connections from the microcontroller to the LCD?
