Have you made a design where you connected the data lines of the LCD to random data positions on a microcontroller?

If not, then I suggest doing it.

If so, then you will understand why I think "encrypt" is a good way to describe it.

I was bringing up the issue on the data pins because the OP appeared to be new when he first posted, and he made it out that his LCD doesn't work.

If he sends the proper LCD command code in his program, (38h for example), it won't work if D7 is connected to LCD's D0.
