The trouble with debugging optimised code is that the tools give you no support whatsoever!

The Optimisation techniques are well-established - so the fault really lies with the debug tools that are still unable to relate the optimised object to its original source in a meaningful and usable way.

If the debug tools could address this issue, we wouldn't have to choose between debugability and optimisation - we could have both!

So, come on Ryan (and any other tool developers listening) - there's a challenge for you!
