This was exactly what I wanted to remark: with '51, the prevalent object format carrying also debug information is OMF51 (Intel's, of course - whom else? :-) ) If the debugging of "advancedly" optimised code requires non-standard data format to be processed (ELF/DWARF is not really standard in the '51 world, is it?), there will be little support in the existing debugging tools.
My guess is that if you hop over to your 'neighbors' (Aquara, New Zealand) you may have a chance of finding an ICE maker that will 'play with you'. However, if you can not get Nohau/Lauterbach on board you chance of success is small. Erik |
