#157233 - Taunting?
Responding to: ???'s previous message

"No, an AND gate is still not the way to drive a relay. "
FYI : IT WORKS FINE !!!!

Google "how to interface relay to microcontroller"
schematics:
http://www.scienceprog.com/drive-rel...ontroller/
http://www.qsl.net/yo5ofh/ho...relays.htm
http://www.lakshmianandk.com/mup/mup-i...acing.html
http://www.midondesign.com/RELAY05/RELAY05.html
http://www.freewebs.com/maheshwankhede/ports.html

guys who want to sell transistors for the job:
http://www.onsemi.com/pub_link/...D525-D.PDF
http://www.rohm.com/ad/dtdg/index.html

Now you post a couple of links with AND gates. You know what an AND gate is?

Wake up !

We are already awake. Just not sure if you are.

Jay Davis said:
You don't have to have a boxcar full of proposals and specs to blow your nose.

Sorry, I didn't know this project was intended for blowing peoples noses. I thought you where planning on interfacing electronics, to control relays based on temperature sensors. Me bad!

Jay Davis said:
I was told you guys were expert .. we asked humbly for help and got nothing but a bunch of negatives. If you can't help then why not just keep quiet until maybe someone who does know something can help?

Taunting doesn't solve your problem.

Being a professional, i.e. someone who gets paid to do this may possibly make me able to say that you are wrong. You ignore the help you get, by putting your fingers in your ears and putting on a mask for your eyes.

Jay Davis said:
STILL WAITING (PROBABLY FOR ETERNITY) FOR SOMEONE TO SAY SOMETHING LIKE (duh):
HERE IS A WEBSITE FOR SUCH AND SUCH EVAL BOARD and KIT, IT COMES COMPLETE WITH ALL HARDWARE NEEDED AND SOFTWARE TOO AS WELL AS DEBUG TOOLS . ITS GOT IT ALL YOU NEED TO DO YOUR SIMPLE PROJECT. IF YOU NEED HELP AFTER YOU GET IT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO WRITE.

I would not trust someone who recommends you a solution, by shouting his recommendation. That person is not a professional on the net, and most probably not so good with electronics or programming either!

Jay Davis said:
We are really dissapointed at so many who profess to have knowledge but can't seem to use common sense. If you look back thru all the messages you can easily see the speces we are working with and you should have presumed room temp, non volatile environmnet (like cots, not mil spec) not ruggedized etc. You could have already had us on track to either do it ourselves or in the best case have already had it done. (I would not call myself expert if I were you). You seem to be overly obsessed with specs specs specs when you already have tons of information to get started with.

The guy who drives on the wrong side of the road is very confused and annoyed by all stupid drivers he see on the wrong side of the road...

We have seen your specs, and find them lacking. You have ignored any requests to fill in the blanks. A professional do not just assume things, because of the inherent danger. ass-u-me!

Tons of information? No, actually the same information repeated multiple times. Ten times a very small number is still a small number.

Jay Davis said:
NOT TO WORRY - WE FOUND A TRUE EXPERT WHO HAS ALREADY (NOT THRU THIS SITE) STEERED US INTO A KIT WHICH WILL DO IT ALL (yes 16 input channels).
ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS WRITE THE SW AND LOAD IT IN, CONNECT OUR INPUTS AND OUTPUTS AND WE ARE OFF AND RUNNING. thanks for nothing !!

Yes, nothing! That is exactly what we have seen. Nothing of what we have said have been picked up.

But have you thought about something: You can pray that the guy in question is good. But if a huge part of people are of one opinion and you find and select someone of a different opinion: what is the risk that this guy is feeding you the answers you want to hear, instead of the answers you should hear?

And since it is likely that he hasn't received more information, his recommendation will be based on assumptions. Maybe he did a good guess. But why base a new product on a guess, when it is so much easier to base it on existing facts?

Jay Davis said:
Next time we need nothing and negatives too, we will be sure to contact you. FOR SHAME !!!

Please do. The next time, you might have woken up and are ready for feedback. It really is a shame when people do the alligator stunt: all mouth and no ears...
