Kashyaps comment may be relevant where you use multitasking and all that jazz, but for a '51 project it does not apply.
Suppose you have been assigned to write a code for an application based on x86 platform today since targets boards are cheap. A year later you are assigned to port the code to say a TI MSP430 .. That would be one strange company. Changing hor.. eh processor families in the middle of the stream. Now you say "what if another processor is cheaper?" that is irrelevant, if you are cost conscious you would not have used an OS anyhow, saving the enotmous amount of memory it requires. Erik |
