Exactly! they have tunnel vision and cannot even imagine any code without an OS, because that would not be "like the PC"
I seem to recall the existence of RTOS' well before the time of the PC, but then I'm showing my age! Can anyone inform us of what was the first computer system to implement a pre-emptive RTOS and compare its performance vs a latter day 8051? Back then I dare say it was considered revolutionary but according to some respondents here they were just deluded as they were trying to make the system work like a PC! Sorry, must run. I've got to tend to my mercury delay line memories and burnish my relay contacts. |
