I do not think th '51 RTOS issues are just Horsepower. It is the stack pointer 256 byte not 64K. Also, a lack of pointer opcodes. Look at the 6800 and Z80 instruction set. They are "real CPUs". How easy and how fast a task switch can be done is the key.
But the '51 can twiddle bit better. with only 256 opcodes you have to loose something. |
