#93139 - X10-alike, I suppose? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Geert, will it be viable for you? Do Belgian Electricity rules/regulations allow these kinds of communication thru power lines?
Regards, Vignesh. Hi Vignesh, I guess you're talking about something similar (or like) X10? This is known here in Belgium and it's allowed too. But for me, it has at least one big disadvantage (as far as I could judge the system): Everywhere where you want to have, for instance, an outlet switched on or off, you have to add additional hardware (or inside, or outside) the outlet and that's really not something I want. Next to this, I heard it's quite sensitive for disturbances on the net. If you, for instance, switch on a raiser machine, that introduces lots of spikes on the power line. That alone, seems to be enough to have, carefully spoken, strange side effects on the installation. But once again, I'm not speaking out of experience, only of reading what it can do and hearing what other people experienced with it. I still prefer to have everything switcheable in the fuse box, by means of relays. Best rgds, --Geert |
