#103626 - 8051/8052 development boards for newbies
Hi all,
I am new to the microcontroller field. I have a background in DSP and wireless. Out of personal interest, I want to learn some low-cost embedded control techniques.

The first step I plan to do is get myself a development board and start doing some experiments. I am at a point where I have to choose a board. And I have no clue what to buy. I have spent couple of hours browsing and reading specs but could not decide what suits my needs. Any help in this regard will give me a head start. Here is my situation:

1)My budget is between $100-$200.
2)I want something that is easy to learn but flexible enough should my projects grow bigger.
3)I mostly envision servo-control kind of applications.
4)on-board A/D converters.
5)I guess 64k RAM and 64k ROM/FLASH should be enough for my apps.
6) some logic programmability in HW would be great to complement the microcontroller.
7)what else I might need for control apps. ?

I have uPSD3200 from STmicro on my mind. But haven't really looked at MAXIM, ATMEL or PHILIPS boards.

Any direct suggestions or pointers to dev. board comparisions will really help me.
thanks for reading through the long description.
-raj.
