However it could easily run from the onboard SRAM - 10ns access time is nothing spectaclar for SRAM so it could run rght off the 8-bit SRAM. Note how fast MOVX on those chips is - parallelism would not help there.
So this one IS a design limitation.

No, it is not a "design limitation" for embedded use because SRAM can not hold the code during power off. Code in non-permanent memory defines "non-embedded" code in permanent memory defines "emebdded". Yes I know that Cypress has some strange hybrids.
