#103820 - flying blind? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As for the on-chip debug aids, I think it's most valuable for the beginner to learn how things work without such features before becoming entangled in the details associated with an ICE, or other debug aids not directly supported within the architecture.
Even a simulator is "not directly supported within the architecture". Thus you suggest absototally no debugging aids. Without any debugging aid the poor sod will be flying blind. If you "allow" a simulator, then why not an ICE, there is no dfference in operating them. I would consider the so called "monitor debugging" the worst possible scenario. Erik |
