I have been reading post on this board for about a month now and I just can't sit back anymore. There are many very intelligent and skilled engineers on this board that have the ability to help a lot of people and most of the time they use that ability to belittle engineering students, new grads, or people like myself that have an engineering degree but never really learned how to be an engineer.

Now yes I do take the responsibilty that I never really took my college education seriously until it was too late, but I also hold the education system partly responsible. Let me explain. Richard, when you were getting your education I would bet that your professors were actully involved in the development of the electronics field the were "actual" engineers. My propfessors (at least 75%) received thier PhD's and immediatly became professors. How can some one teach me how to make a design from scratch or solve a problem when they never have. I learned all about analizing circuits and computer architecture, but no one ever showed me how this relates to real world problems. They just recited what the text book said.

Now I know that there are people that will read this and throw it back in my face. I know it. I am where I am at because of me and me alone. The reason that just about every post in this site is always asking why do people just want the answers and never want to learn the why, is that is the way they learned in college. They were only asked for the answer and never taught how it works or how to appliy it.

Stop belittleing people by pointing out that they don't know what they are doing. They are coming here to get help from people that now what they are doing. You don't have to prove how big you are by showing how small other people are.
