It was a wiring problem, IMHO, though we've no proof of that, since the O/P didn't answer the questions he was asked.
In other words, he started something with insufficient documentation, asked here, but could not get answers because he did not answer questions (probanbly because he had no idea what he was doing). Based on Richards recollections, it would not surprise me if he has BASIC for the '85. Now - no, not to make Richard furious - would it not have been a better to say "solder a LED on the board and get 'blinky' to work, then, step by step, you will get to where you can solve or, at least, describe your problems". That has been tried and miserably failed because of the "I do not have the time to do simple things" attitude of many Stating 'this is antique' should force the OP to state "why". When the OP can not answer "why" how do you - or anyone else - know if the OP is on the road to perdition or the road to a working design. Erik |
