I understand the investment in both tools and parts, but the SiLabs USB debug/programming adapter is US$35, which is to say essentially free! And gives you ICE functionality.

The addition makes the statement No way, Nohau make sense

PS I have yet to buy a JTAG adapter. Buying a devboard gives you devboard, adapter, cables and wallwart for just a few dollars more, so why not go that route. I have collected a lot of devboards supplying our field techies with adapters.
