Hallo Board,


First I was thinking to post this on chat board but feel it isnt off topic. Actually I am feeling a wave as if 8051 part manufacturers are not taking 8051/mixed signal core seriously.
when we come to economy/availablity/pricing. It forced me to post this topic as today we have to taken a decision to use ATmega128 for a mass production sensor due to its abundant availablity , support , low cost and economy.
I feel sad why cant 8051 catch up with AVR and we dont have to use the auuuu AVRS. See any 8051 derivative let it be ADuCxxx, C8051xxx, Dallas/Maxim, Winbond. You are forced to use either programming tools (Cygnal programmer) or buy a costly MCUs (Analog devices) , which is 3 times the price of an AVR with same functionality very sad .
