1) My opposition to using an AVR It is an Atmel, that is persomal, so disregard that for your purposes. 2) Single manufacturer. If Atmel backorder you for a 500 day wait, you are screwed. If a '51 manufacturer tell you the same, you go to another. Even, when using very specific derivatives, the chyanges in that situation are nominal. 3) Non-optimal tools. The IAR compiler is a 'universal' compiler with a chip specific 'front end'. Such a compiler can never be optimum. Erik For clause 1) howmany times do we think this issue when we choose an RF transceiver ICs (may be 2.45GHz band) (just an example) .Ti ,Anadigics ,RFMD etc each manufacturer is different. For clause 2) the only change would be a C compiler nothing else . For clause 3) I found this to be the most expansive compiler for the AVRS in the world. I personally dislike AVRS , but all this discussion did a good thing that is you help me draw my attention to the Phillips goodies LPC938 simply wonderfull and and very cost effective. Can you help me with its programming , I could locate Flash magic but the site is out of order, any other free IAP out there. APC |
