I once bought an eval board for the 90S8515, and quickly found it wanting. Tech support was terrible, vendor supplied software didn't work ... I tossed it out.

With the ARM, you can develop on a native LINUX and port the code using widely accepted, supported, and understood software tools.

There's no comparison at all!
