Well, there is certainly a limit where any electronics stops to behave as designed...
Nevertheless, as a last resort, you might construct a watchdog-like circuit, which cycles power as an output, rather than simply pulling the reset line. Or, a more sophisticated one, trying first to reset a couple of times, then the power cycle. Nevertheless, as you have pointed already out, the EMI shall be removed first, together with diminishing its effect to the said microcontroller... JW PS. Just as a matter of interest, couldn't you try a couple of other '51 derivatives in place of the AT89Sxx? If it IS a latchup, it must be technologically dependent... |
