No, it is not,

Your board should be able to withstand the environment it is sold to work in. If it is not, and you can not/do not want to fix it take the board back and give the customer a refund.

Does that mean thst you can not suggest to the customer that he install a snubber, of course not. However regardless of that, my first paragraph is still stand.
