#146954 - A proper design would stand it! Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I said if someone installs a Power Relay running a DC motor without a snubber, protection diode or any other precaution to reduce EMI ,it is his fault if my board doesn't work properly. 1. If you had designed your equipement properly, then it would not fail only because one relay without a snubber. Then you had enough margin to handle noisy environments. 2. You must keep in mind, that something like this can always happen, and eventually must be better than the standards. Farshad, I calculated that using a solid ground plane can reduce the sensitivity to magnetic fields by a factor of about 100. This margin you totally waste by using a double sided board without a solid ground plane. Kai |
