I'm sorry, Russell, I didn't mean "deadly" in the strict sense of word. All I wanted to say is, that things can become worse for Farshad if he adds a switcher, as long as he doesn't have a design which can easily withstand EMI (solid ground plane, etc.). Or by other words, that the adding of a switcher might give the board its quietus, figuratively meant of course.
