1. More searchable information is always good.

2. Increased web traffic has economic benefits for this site.

Con

1. Would a company retain editorial content over the forum? What happens if a forum turns negative?

2. Keeping up with posts. I can read every post now, but it is hard. I don't know if I could keep up with twice the number of posts.

3. The big companies (NXP, SiLabs) already have their own forums. Would there be enough user content for a forum covering a small company?. For example, we have about 12 8051 customers. If they have a question, I get called personally. If we had a separate forum on 8052.com, then I would be the only one in there. And maybe Jan too, if he felt sorry for me.
