ISTR that the associated simulator doesn't operate on files that span more than 2KB of the addressable range. I'm not sure, but either the IDE or the assembler refuses to do that, too. I think I'm about this close (picture two fingers really close to each other) in finishing the 32-bit version of Pinnacle with this in mind. I've long wanted to add a 'C' compiler to it but I really don't see myself having the time to do that anytime soon. The simulator is pretty decent, though, and the editor could be acceptable with just a little more work. At least acceptable for everyone except Erik. ;) So I'm seriously thinking of making Pinnacle freeware, ditch its internal assembler, and make it capable of calling SDCC and/or Metalink Assembler and just making it available here free. One more non-paying thing to do after I finish the 8052.com website redesign/re-code. :) Regards, Craig Steiner |
