IIRC, Craig said that you will be able to set your own limit to whom you'll see. So, if you want to help newbies, you set it to zero or some negative level. Newbies start at zero so you would see them. Or maybe you never set a limit. Exactly right. Each user would have the option to filter out posts below a certain score or entire users below a certain karma level. The default would be to see everything. Low-karma users and messages would only disappear if a given user specifically modifies his settings to indicate he doesn't want to see them. It would not be an arbitrary global setting.
