#71813 - Yet another change: Limits Responding to: ???'s previous message |
There have been some limits added to the scoring system.
1. Users' Karma will not be allowed to fall below -5 nor will it be allowed to exceed 50. This is aimed to prevent even bad trolls from digging themselves so deep they have no hope for salvation. It also prevents users from racking up so much karma that they can then go on "spending sprees" where they flame users but don't care because they have Karma to burn. 2. A user can now lose a maximum of 2 points of karma on a single message and gain a maximum of 5. This is to prevent a single bad post from completely destroying the karma earned from previous good posts, or a single good post from generating abnormal levels of karma considering it was just a single post. Note that a given message can have a score below -2 and above 5, but the user will not receive additional karma for scoring beyond those levels. We may adjust these values depending on how it appears things are working out. Regards, Craig Steiner 8052.com Webmaster |
