How about a posting that has received, say, +10, which could trigger the 'very interesting' icon. You will probably have to play with the trigger point so that the very interesting stuff stands out from the rest. That could be possible. One problem I have, though, is what happens if you have a short thread with one really good exceptional response? Even a very good message might only get +3 or +4 and that might be the sum total for the thread. But if you have a thread with 30 posts and you have 10 posts that get +1 then you'd have +10... So I'm not sure a straight "+10 for thread=very interesting" is going to work as the logic...? Do people think the current approach of having a thumbs-up appear on the main forum page for each thread where the original post is scored positively is useful? Or do you think we should only display a thumbs-up on the main page if all the messages in the thread combine to reach a certain score? Regards, Craig Steiner 8052.com Webmaster |
