Nice changes to the forum and I hope that contributors will now post more useful replies. This system seems more useful than star ratings. I agree. Also, just so everyone knows, the star system (which is currently based purely on number of posts) will eventually be replaced by the karma score such that users with a certain range of karma will receive 1-star, another range 2-stars, etc. This change will probably be implemented in a couple of months after the scoring system has some time to generate sufficient karma to differentiate users. May I ask why the "administrator" and "moderator" have been exempted from this scoring system when someone views their user profile? After all, they are contributor as well. The karma score for the moderator and administrator are not currently displayed because it is my feeling that some people may take their frustrations regarding moderation decisions out by scoring the two of us unfairly. Our jobs here don't always make us popular and I don't want our karma scores being used by those same people as some kind of evidence that we're doing things "wrong" or that they're somehow entitled to extra consideration because they have a higher karma score than we do, etc. By the same token, we've never been ranked with the "star system" either. Our individual messages are subject to scoring like everyone elses, but our overall karma score is currently not displayed for the reason I just mentioned.
