While similar, the newer IC is different and has a different internal structure by which it functions. This new IC with a faster rating may experience problems such as ground bounce, ringing and power supply noise. Where the older board was borderline, it no longer provides for the increased needs of the new microcontroller. That's what I understand from having read posts on this site. |
