#83395 - Chip manufacturer changed? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Jan Waclawek said:
Once we decided to remake the board for SMD. My younger colleague replaced the 74LS parts with more modern, faster, better 74HC part... And sure it stopped working. well you changed the family and it stopped working. I have the experience of changing the chip manufacturer (for an HC chip, I don't remember the part number exactly) from TI to Motorola and the same board stopped working. The chip was on socket (same board for both chips) and rest of parts were also same. Both chips were fine when tested standalone. Anyway very interesting thread, Joseph. |
