I have not read S52 datasheet but I have read the C52. It's probly about timing. I guess that's the biggest issue between the two MCUs. Does your RC circuit hold the rst for the required clock cycles. The second thing is EMI senstivity. The pull down resistor has the biggest role in this. I like to use a low value resistor to keep the reset close to ground. this helps with noise problems. but it effects timing. And I have used the C52 C51 and 2051 in a lot of circuits. I recommend a Brown out reset chip if the device is going to see moderate EMI, but I have been able to make fairly good RC reset with low values pull down resistors. |
