That's the problem with noise, you do never know. There are so many things that can cause the effect, that what it takes to eliminate noise sensitivity, acn be quite a challenge. basically you have two possibilities: do it all and be happy do one thing at a time till finally you say "ah" Some of us routinely "overdesign" our projects just to avoid this hassle. But there are freebies such as never having a trace longer than the absolute minimum to the chip decoupling caps. Whenever I am asked to investigate noise, that is the first thing I look for. I may have mentioned it earlier, but in one case a 1" trace was too long, soldering an additional cap directly across the chip cured the noise sensitivity. Anyhow do remember that "Of course ground is ground, he said" is the first sentence in a fairytale which end "after the grounds were isolated they lived happily ever after". Erik |
