Yes, you are right: Kitchen table programmers, which are the ones designed by people trusting too much the datasheets and application notes, are often a mess, because there's hidden knowledge about how to correctly programming the micro.
additionally, they will soon be a thing of the past because, first Philips and now Atmel (and maybe more) have wisened up and only give parallel programming information to "certified programmer makers". I would have been the first one on the barricades re this had it not been because these chips are ISP so no kitchen table worker need have a programmer. Erik |
