#98032 - was the PDA/laptop free?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
The technicians dealing with our equipment make more mechanical work than anything else. The electronic repairs are limited to board exchange and wiring repair. They don't have a laptop nor PDA. They drive a lot, and always in a hurry, so their equipment is more-or-less freely thrown in boxes in their cars' trunk.

It's far cheaper and easier and better to give them a box with a big red button, than a laptop or a PDA.

And if there is nothing to buy, one has to build it himself... :-) (this one programs AVRs (please wait, don't label me "-1 Off Topic", it uses a '52...) and currently is somewhere deep in Russia AFAIK).
OK, not exactly a box, but did its job perfectly many times.

Would you call this one a "cable"?
