No company supports all the 8051 variants.
Which chip? I have used Keil for years, never had a problem. The Keil IDE supports many emulators. So you may have a choice of emulator front ends. "Upgrading" your compiler means changing it. You will have to port the code. They are not 100% interchangable. the non-ANSI stuff will change. Not always alot but enough. Not as much a problem on new projects. |
