We can go a long way discussing this, but there are more possibilities hidden in open source than the - at least theoretical - chance to fix it:
  • you can make customized versions (e.g. support for some weird banking scheme or support some HW crypting)
  • you can build (and try to sell) a development package around it
  • (the nicest): you can try to make a deal with Maarten Brock to do all of this for you :-))) (I mean, you know the people behind it, it's not an "anonymous" company)
