Sure, but do you really believe that if our little '51 community start "using the correct nomenclature" the world will follow? I absolutotally doubt it.

So, "use the correct nomenclature" and send some beginner out to buy a DE-9 which he will never find what kind og help is that?

I am not saying that DigiKey is the authority on parts, but try finding a DE-9 there, you won't, but they have DB-9s galore.
