I'm attempting to set out to teach myself some level of embedded programming and system design. It's fairly well over my head as I'm only a freshmen in Electrical and Computer engineering at my school...however that's never stopped me before =)

Anyway I've designed a circuit around a AT89C51RD2 to allow for the functionality that I want. Basically the features I have in mind are:

• In System Programmable via serial connection


• A/D converter interface. Preferably with a pwr/gnd connection to provide power to the analog device if needed


• Simple 16x2 or so LCD connection support


• A couple spare I/O hookups in case I want to expand the board in some fashion in the future.


Basically from looking at others schematics and a lot of looking at spec sheets I drew up a schematic. I was hoping someone would be willing to look over the schematic as I simply don't have the firm grounding this stuff yet. I've hosted a pdf of the schematic here:
