#82972 - Learning C for tte 8051 and 8-bit uC Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Iain! If you finally decided to learn C, then the following thread has some very useful links for C development in an 8-bit uC environment and specifically 8051: http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=71812
As for Assembly vs C issue I think that all have been said in the previous posts. All the experienced guys in this forum have said it many times: Every language has its purpose! For example, in the company I work now, we program telephone centers for mobile and fixed lines telephony. Everything is done in 80386 assembly. But there are subsystems, where we use Java, C++ and another language that, from what I have beed told, is something between Pascal and C++. Obviously there is a reason for all these... George |
