#83202 - portability Responding to: ???'s previous message |
When switching a project from e.g a HC to a '51 there are, of course, some "portability" advantages, but I know of no project that was moved from one processor family to another. Ummmm... no, I can't think of a whole project that's moved from one processor family to another. But I have certainly seen large chunks of 'C' moved from one processor family to another - I've done it myself taking 8051 'C' onto a PC, to make a "tester" for the embedded unit. And, of course, 'C' makes it much easier to buy-in standard functions, protocol stacks, etc as source code. |
