It is an 8051. an 8bit put-put CPU. Keil does a great job of making C work on an 8051. Yes it has limited support for moving data around. That is why some version have multiple Data Pointers.
But when you are tring to tow a boat with a Mo-Ped and it doesn't move. It is not the Mo-Peds fault.
The '51 will be 25 next year. It does more than Intel ever thought it could. but it is still only a microcontroller.
