I heard from lot of sources that Linux is widely & successfully used for Embedded & Real Time application particulary those which uses Microcontroller with Limited Resources (Memory etc). Many samll foot print Linux kernel suited for real time embedded application or RTOS Linux kernel are availble for use with 8 bit/16 bit microcontroller.
Has any body any experience of using LINUX for Microcontroller & REal Time Embedded system application ? Now a days large no of Microcontroller needed to incorporate ethernet , USB, networking, Embedded Web Server type of application in the product. Incorporting them using only Assembly & C without OS kernel in built/ Library support for above task is very difficult. Small foot Print (in term of Memory )Linux RTOS can provide these without requiring huge Program & Data Memory. Request Feedbacks from experienced users |
