) Linux has been used for large embedded systems, here we discuss small embedded systems. Depends what you mean by large. Sony use Linux in their TVs, it is used in many set top boxes and my adsl router runs it on an ARM.
Well for once we agree, I said "large embedded where real enough is real enough (e.g. ARM ...." Real time implies determinism and deadlines NO "real time" is abused as a selling point for URTOSs, just read all the articles about "real time Linux", and has stuck since. Real does not mean deterministic if that is what you want, then say deterministic instead of saying real which means something else. I can decide that a particular flower (Rosa Gradiflora x Peace) is called a Horsefeather, that does not change the rose. You use the misexpressions invented by the marketing departments of the URTOSs, that is your prerogative, I prefer to call a rose a rose. Erik |
