I heard from lot of sources that Linux is widely & successfully used for Embedded & Real Time application
1) Linux has been used for large embedded systems, here we discuss small embedded systems. 2) Linux and Windows both are URTOSs (Unreal Time OS). In many cases what is called "real enough" is, indeed, "real enough" because a) a faster processor and b) no "hard real" devices. So, If You are into large embedded where real enough is real enough (e.g. ARM in a cellphone) Linux may be a possibility, but here in the '51 world it qualifies for joke of the year. Erik |
