The trouble is that the "testing" in this case means merely "I ran it a few times and didn't notice anything wrong"
That's nowhere near a thorough test!

As I've said before, the code for when everything works fine is likely to be only 10% - the other 90% is coping with everything that could possible go wrong!

Thorough testing needs to ensure that all the "exceptional" cases are exercised...
