#98934 - LPC900 (932) series how reliable? |
Hello,
When the LPC932 was newly released, I read some scary reports on the web and did not use them in my products, now I have purchased some LPC921s and I am trying to program them, I have already locked up 4 of them, it seems very difficult to start with these chips, even though there are three methods to work with the ISP (apart from the ICP)none of them are working at the moment. I have had very positive results with other Philips chips such as the P89Cxxx devices and they have always worked and programed reliably.I am also currently working with the 89V51RD2 and it is working (ISP part) like a breeze. The scary reports seem to be confirmed, since they have provided an authorisation key to program the flash bytes in the newer LPC921 series, which is not implemented in the LPC932. My question is have Philips solved most the bugs in the LPC900 series? Is it safe to use the newer versions of the LPC932 series in commercial products?, comments from actual user experiences will be highly appreciated. Thanks and regards, John. |
