#99176 - A very good question! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Prahlad,
I have already started using LPC9xx in some products and I am planning to use them in some more products but this reset thing has really scared me. Is LPC9xx only meant for toys? A very good question! I have designed, manufactured and supplied boiler controllers, based on PIC micros, with no complaints so far, which I am now trying to replace with the LPC9xx series, since I like any MCS51 based micro and the Philips part seems to be more advanced and comes in an attractive TSSOP package, and at lesser cost, but will it be as reliable as the PIC (or more reliable)?. I dont want to design in an external reset simply because Philips feature an internal POR and BOR, and why should the cost of the product be increased when Philips mention that an external reset must be used only if the micro is operated with higher frequency crystals (I think above 12MHz)and I am operating with the slower internal clock.
