#77817 - SiLabs Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I would use a SILabs micro, just to get the beginner the advantage of the 'live' debugging. I'd like to but last I check SiLabs only sells direct. I believe that Atmel is, for better or for worse, one of the easiest to find 8052 derivatives and are often found in-stock at electronics stores where you can just walk in and buy them as easy as you can buy a capacitor. This is a very valid question. Can people around the world comment on the availability of Atmel parts in their area? And, at the same time, on the availability of parts from other manufacturers? I'm talking about the kind of availability that students and hobbyists would be looking for about being able to walk into a store and buy it. Preferably they should not have to special order it via mail, etc. Regards, Craig Steiner |
